Andor Showrunner shares disappointing news about the release date for Season 2

The next chapter in the Star Wars universe arrives on Disney+ this week, with the appearance of Star Wars: Andorprequel series for Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. Diego Luna’s Cassian Andor will get a full backstory on the series, showing how he became the rebel leader that fans met in the beginning rogue one. The story is scheduled to be told in 24 parts, over two seasons of 12 episodes each. The second season will definitely happen, but unfortunately fans will have to wait a while to see it.

Andor Talk to Show Director Tony Gilroy twisting Before the show’s premiere and take up the schedule for the second season. Production begins in November of this year, but the process of making an entire season is time-consuming. We likely won’t see the second part of the series until 2024.

“I have two more years left,” Gilroy said, “We start shooting in November on Part 2. And I don’t know if… our previous pattern was two years, but I mean, I’ll be in… We’ll be shooting from November ) to August. And then our publication[-production] The last time was about a year.”

The series aims to explore Cassian Andor’s story, diving deep into the early years of the Rebellion in the process. Luna, reprising his role from rogue oneHe says the series will show how he became a central figure in the fight against the empire.

“We’ll answer that and many other questions,” Luna told ComicBook.com. “He talks about his participation in this battle since he was six years old rogue one. He talks about a very dark past. He talks about doing terrible things for the revolution. We’ll get to know what it means, you know? Tony Gilroy’s writing is really interesting and complex. And I don’t think people know exactly what I’m talking about. Like, I didn’t either. When I read the article and his presentation and ideas, I was like, “Wow, that’s cool.” It’s, in essence, what I had in mind when I was playing the role, but it’s clear how that happens and the specifics and context are so rich and interesting to watch.”

The first three episodes of Andor Premieres Wednesday, September 21, only on Disney+.
